Femtosecond to nanosecond time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy (fs-TA, ns-TA) and other ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopies are useful in investigating the photophysical dynamics of the metal complexes by direct capturing the short-lived intermediates. In this thesis, the selected metal complexes, such as platinum(II) complexes incorporated with TPE ligands and ruthenium(II) complexes incorporated with fused-ring ligands were designed and synthesized, and the interesting photophysical dynamics of these complexes were systematically studied by employing the fs-TA, ns-TA, time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations.
This dataset contained the data for time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy and the quantum chemical calculations for studying the ultrafast photophysical dynamics of selected TPE contained Pt(II) complexes and the pi-extended Ru(II) complexes.
