This research investigates seven–five–seven (7–5–7) membered ring-embedded molecular carbons with open-shell character. The work covers molecular design, synthesis, and structural confirmation, combined with spectroscopic, electrochemical, and magnetic measurements (continuous-wave electron paramagnetic resonance (cw-EPR), pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance (pulsed-EPR), superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The findings reveal how non-hexagonal ring especially heptagons incorporation modulates electronic structures, stability, and magnetic properties, offering insights for applications in organic spintronics.
