Reaction time and accuracy data were collected in this dataset, which contains four files. The first and second files contain the reaction time and accuracy data from Experiment 1, respectively. There were two language groups in the first two files: Cantonese-English bilinguals and native English speakers. Both language groups completed a computer-based experiment by performing judgement tasks. Specifically, they judged whether the stimuli were water- or fire-related by pressing the corresponding buttons. There were 4 blocks in the experiment and it took 30-40 minutes to accomplish.

The third and fourth files contain reaction time data and accuracy data from Experiment 2, respectively. These data sheets only have Cantonese-English bilinguals. This bilingual group went through the same process and were presented the same experimental materials as Experiment 1. The only difference was this bilingual group watched a 30-minute English video before the experiment.
