Influenza, the most prevalent respiratory viral disease, afflicted the world yearly before the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Since COVID-19 emerged at the end of 2019, SARS-CoV-2 has transiently replaced influenza, resulting in an unexpected 3-year pandemic.
