Supporting data for "Comparing the mechanical and optical properties of different 3D Printed resin-based ceramic materials for permanent restorations
The objective of this study is to elucidate the mechanical strengths (3 point bending test; biaxial flexural test and compressive test) of five different market brands (Bego, Detax, NextDent, SprintRay Ceramic, SprintRay OnX) and to examine the effects of thermocycling on hardness and translucency tests.
Three different thicknesses (1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, and 2.0 mm) were utilized in the experiments to examine the relationship between thickness and both mechanical properties (hardness) and optical properties (translucency).
Five distinct brands—BEGO, DETAX, NEXTDENT, SPRINTRAY CERAMICS, and SPRINTRAY OnX—were selected for comparison through biaxial flexural tests, three-point bending tests, and compressive tests. Each test included 15 samples to assess the mechanical performance of each brand.
Baseline measurements (T0) for hardness and translucency were collected. Specimens then underwent thermocycling at intervals of 1000 (T1), 3000 (T3), and 6000 (T6) cycles to simulate the oral environment in situ and to evaluate the effects of thermocycling on mechanical and optical properties.
The data files contain the supporting data of the tests mentioned previously: 3 point bending test, biaxial flexural test, compressive test, hardness test and translucency test.
