The study is about attitudes of Cantonese speakers of English in Hong Kong towards the pronunciation features of Hong Kong English. Data will be collected using matched-guise technique (i.e., a listening task), a survey, semi-structured interviews. In the listening task, the participants rated several speech samples. Then, they rated statements about their perception of Hong Kong English and its pronunciation in the survey. The follow-up interviews explored factors shaping their attitudes. The dataset includes (1) responses collected from the matched-guise technique, (2) responses collected from the survey, and (3) interview transcripts.
