Supporting data for “Epidemiological and evolutionary dynamics of human respiratory viruses in Hong Kong during COVID-19"
My research study delves into the genetic diversity and evolutionary changes of respiratory viruses during the COVID-19 pandemic, considering the implementation of non-pharmaceutical interventions in Hong Kong. Specifically, our focus lies on rhinoviruses and RSV, as we observed the resurgence of rhinovirus and off-season peaks of RSV. The dataset comprises virus sequences obtained from infected patients in Hong Kong during the pandemic, along with accompanying epidemiological data, including clinical symptoms. This enables us to explore correlations between specific virus genotypes and disease manifestations. Furthermore, these sequences facilitate phylogenetic analysis, offering a comprehensive understanding of evolutionary dynamics driven by genetic variations. The surveillance of these respiratory viruses remains crucial for monitoring and managing their impact.
