Supporting data for "Farmland conservation under land ‘quota-fication’: state rescaling, land politics, and the transforming rural(ity)"

<p dir="ltr">This is a research dataset for the PhD thesis entitled "Farmland conservation under land ‘quota-fication’: state rescaling, land politics, and the transforming rural(ity)". The thesis research aims to aims to unpack the rationale, power dynamics, and socio-spatial impact of farmland conservation in rural China. The dataset consists of interview records with over 20 stakeholders, including urban planners, governmental cadres (at provincial, county, and township levels), private groups (i.e., land consolidation company, agricultural company) related to farmland conservation in Guangdong. The interview has been conducted in Guangzhou, Nanhai, Jiangmen, and Maoming between July 2024 and March 2025. The dataset showcases the various perspectives from diverse stakeholders on extant farmland conservation programs.</p>
