Supporting data for “Finding macronutrients that matter”
Diet is one of the most important modifiable risk factors for non-communicable diseases, particularly cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer. In my thesis, I studied the association of sugar, in the form of SSB consumption and blood sucrose and fructose, and arachidonic acid, a major long-chain n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid, with cardiovascular disease and its risk factors, and cancer.
This dataset includes most of the data used in the analyses of the thesis. Table 1 provides the information of sugar sweetened beverage consumption at 11 years and subsequent adiposity and covariates in “Children of 1997” Birth Cohort. Table 2 provides the genetic instruments for and genetic associations with blood sucrose and fructose and their genetic associations with ischemic heart disease and cardiovascular risk factors. Table 3 provides the genetic instruments for and genetic associations with plasma phospholipid arachidonic acid and their genetic associations with cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular risk factors. Table 4 provides the genetic instruments for and genetic associations with plasma phospholipid arachidonic acid and their genetic associations with site-specific cancers.
