My doctoral study explores the perceptions of academics and administrators toward Chinese university leadership, the selection and appointment procedures for middle academic leaders in Chinese universities, and the pathway to becoming a middle academic leader. It also investigates the different kinds of power in Chinese universities and the dynamics of resistance and protest in Chinese higher education (HE). This dataset includes three types of data for my doctoral research:
Interview data with 31 academics and 10 administrators from Mainland China.
Policy documents of 14 universities on the selection and appointment procedures for middle academic leaders in Chinese universities
