Supporting data for “Mental Health Recovery Storytelling in Hong Kong’s “More Than A Label” Anti-Stigma Intervention: A Sociolinguistic Investigation

This dataset contains transcriptions of mental health recovery stories recounted in both English and Cantonese as part of Hong Kong's "More Than A Label" intervention. This intervention is a contact-based anti-stigma initiative organized by the Hong Kong charity Mind HK that recruits individuals with lived experience of mental illness as 'ambassadors' to publicly share their recovery experiences. The dataset also includes transcriptions from an online discussion group organized to collect the ambassadors' feedback on their participation in the intervention, as well as ethnographic fieldnotes capturing contextual details that enhance the richness of the data analysis.

This file is the metadata-only record of the dataset used in my PhD dissertation. The files are not available for public use due to the fact that they contain highly sensitive and potentially identifying information related to participants’ personal experiences with mental illness and mental health recovery. The transcripts follow the Jeffersonian transcription conventions for sociolinguistic analysis. The final files used for analysis are Microsoft Word documents (.docx)
