Supporting data for “Normativity, Power, and Context: A Case Study of a Baháʼí-Inspired School in Macao”
This dataset includes data collected as part of a qualitiative case study of the approach to "moral empowerment" taken by a Baháʼí-inpired school in Macao. The research project focused on (1) an emerging approach to normative phenomena based on a foundational ontology and non-foundational epistemology, (2) an expanded conception of power that draws on mutualistic powers reflecting the nobility of the human spirit, and (3) how these constructs found expression in a Chinese educational context. Research methods included document analysis, secondary analysis of existing data (intereviews and surveys of students carried out by the school), and semi-structured interviews of students, teachers, and administrators carried out by the researcher.
