Supporting data for "Study the therapeutic potential of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (TaVNS) for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) in 5xFAD mouse model".
This is the supporting data for "Study the therapeutic potential of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (TaVNS) for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) in 5xFAD mouse model". This study studied the therapeutic potential of TaVNS in AD, and the therapeutic effects were demonstrated in 5xFAD mouse mode, an AD rodent model. My study consisted of 3 studies: study 1 was to understand the pathologies displayed in the 5xFAD model; study 2 was to find out the optimal stimulation approach of TaVNS and see how it can affect the brain to achieve beneficial results. Study 3 was to validate the mechanism found in study 2. These studies include data from behavioral tests, immunohistochemistry studies, immunofluorescence studies, mass spectrometry studies, and gene expression RT-PCR studies. The dataset has included all the numerical raw and clean data of these tests and the statistical analysis. Overall, this study aim to test the hypothesis that TaVNS can be a therapeutic option for AD patients and the action mechanism is serotonin-dependent. |
