<h4>This dataset includes data used in the thesis titled "The Development of Working Memory in Childhood: Contributions of Family Socioeconomic Status and Parenting Behaviors".It contains data utilized in Chapter 4 for Study 2, along with a readme.txt file that outlines the variable names and their corresponding labels.</h4><h4>Study 2 examined the relationships among family socioeconomic status, parenting behaviors, and working memory development among K3 preschoolers (aged 5 to 6) in Hong Kong, using a person-oriented approach. The study analyzed data from 270 K3 children (5-6 years old, 52.9% female) and their primary caregivers, collected over two time points with a 6-month interval from five Hong Kong kindergartens. Family socioeconomic status and parenting behaviors were assessed through a questionnaire completed by caregivers, while children's working memory was directly assessed using a backward digit span task.</h4><p></p>
