Supporting data for "The effects of Tai Chi on sleep, metabolic health and cognitive function in older adults"
This folder contains 4 datasets for the investigation of the effects of Tai Chi on improving sleep, metabolic health and cognitive function, and the difference in brain adaption induced by mind-body exercise and aerobic exercise.
The dataset for the study investigating the effects of Tai Chi on improving sleep contains data of subjective sleep parameters and actigraph-assessed objective sleep parameters of insomniac older adults that received no intervention, conventional exercise and Tai Chi intervention respectively at baseline, after the 12-week intervention and 24 months after the completion of intervention.
The dataset for the study investigating the effects of Tai Chi on improving metabolic health contains data of metabolic syndrome risk factors of middle-age and older adults with central obesity that received no intervention, conventional exercise and Tai Chi intervention respectively at baseline, after the 12-week intervention and 6 months after the completion of intervention.
The dataset for the study investigating the effects of Tai Chi on improving cognitive function contains data of performance in global cognitive function and several cognitive domains of older adults with mild cognitive impairment that received no intervention, conventional exercise and Tai Chi intervention respectively at baseline, after the 12 weeks of intervention and upon completion of the 24-week intervention.
The dataset for the study investigating the brain adaption induced by mind-body exercise and aerobic exercise includes electroencephalogram data of individuals with different exercise habit.
