This dataset is the supporting data for “The role of caspase-1/IL-1β in the pathogenesis of Sjögren's syndrome”. The primary aim of the study is to clarify the function of the caspase-1/IL-1β axis in SS by examining its effects on B cells and disease pathology.

In the study, I first investigated the kinetic changes of caspase-1 and IL-1β in SS patients and ESS mice, along with their correlation to disease activity. Second, I assessed the impact of caspase-1 deficiency on the pathogenesis of ESS. Third, I explored the mechanisms by which caspase-1/IL-1β causes damage to the salivary glands. Finally, novel therapeutic targets were identified for treating this autoimmune disease. The original raw experimental data were collected using various techniques, including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), quantitative PCR (qPCR), flow cytometric staining, confocal imaging, histological analysis, and western blotting, among others. The dataset comprises both raw and analyzed data, as presented in all the chapters of the submitted thesis. Data analysis was conducted using Graphpad Prism software.
