Supporting data for "discourses of homosexuality and nationhood in Chinese online spaces"

The dataset includes a plain text of homophobic speeches collected from Baidu Tieba and a PDF file of Weibo comments on a case of homophobia in China. Critical discourse analytical tools are used to analyze the data in order to reveal discourses of homophobia and homonationalism in Chinese online spaces.

This dataset is used for the PhD research project on discourses of homosexuality and nationhood in Chinese online spaces. The research project looks into the representations of homosexuality and its relationship with Chinese nationhood from critical discourse analysis and postcolonial transnational perspective.
