The thesis project aims to develop stimuli-responsive nanoparticles by self-assembling prodrugs for minimally invasive administration of age-related macular degeneration, including designing reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive prodrug nanoparticles and photoactivatable prodrug nanoparticles. The methods include the synthesis and characterization of stimuli-responsive prodrugs, the characterization of formulations, in vitro data of anti-angiogenic assays, and in vivo therapeutic and biosafety data in choroidal neovascularization mouse models.
