Supporting data for "using chatbots to support online students’ engagement and performance"
This study explores the innovative use of chatbots to enhance students' online learning in two mixed-method case studies, which involved two classes of students experiencing chatbot-supported online learning.
We evaluated students' learning engagement, performance, and perceptions of chatbot-supported online learning. Student engagement was examined from three aspects: behavioral engagement, cognitive engagement, and emotional engagement. Learning performance was measured by pre- and post-tests regarding the domain knowledge. Students' perceptions were measured by surveys and follow-up semi-structured interviews.
This set of supporting data includes students' learning records, pre- and post-tests, survey data results, and interview transcripts regarding using the chatbots in the two online courses.
