This thesis investigates key aspects of evolutionary genetics, focusing on de novo mutation rates, recombination rates, and their influence on population genetic models and the estimation of genomic parameters. It provides new insights into variation within species regarding germline mutations and recombination, shedding light on the underlying biological processes. Additionally, the work offers valuable resources for fish population studies, including a high-quality, telomere-to-telomere reference genome assembly and accurate rate estimates. The dataset included here represents the final data used in all analyses conducted in this research.
