The BRI transnational energy map: oil and gas pipelines

Description

Locations and attributes, including names and status of oil and gas pipelines that have been proposed in the framework of the Belt and Road up until March 2020 for the transportation of natural gas and crude oil.

Spatially contextualizing the new pipelines, existing and proposed pipelines (oil and gas), and refineries in Afro-Eurasia up until November 2017 are attached as supplementary data for visualizations.

Data of pipelines proposed in the framework of the BRI were collected from multiple public sources and specified in each data point in the Excel file and Shapefile. Existing and proposed pipelines were collected from FracTracker Alliance.
