Supporting data for "Perceived Overqualification and Leadership Emergence: A Social Network Perspective”

This study integrates career mobility theory, social network perspective, and gender role theory to examine how perceived overqualification affects employee promotability through network centrality and career mobility pathways, as well as gender differences in these pathways. I collected multi-wave, multi-source data from employees and their leaders across multiple organizations in northern China. Using multi-level path analyses in Mplus 8.6, I found support for most of the proposed hypotheses.
