Supporting data for "Safety and effectiveness of control measures for mitigatingthe burden of Influenza and COVID-19"
My thesis explores the effectiveness and reactogenicity of vaccines, and the effectiveness of lateral flow tests and non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) in mitigating the impact of influenza and SARS-CoV-2, providing key insights into public health strategies. This project consists of 5 broader research objectives under that mentioned above. Data for four of the objectives is derived from three projects that have used human participants and obtained approval for human research ethics from IRB. For the final objective data was generated through a systematic review of literature. The datasets and scripts for three of the five chapters have been published (see related materials) and also included in the submitted folder. For the remaining research chapters 5 & 6, the data used was from ongoing randomised controlled trial and cohort studies. The data is managed and stored by the project investigators using RedCap and will be deposited in an online repository towards the end of the projects as stipulated in my data management plan. As such the data included for these two chapters are currently the metadata describing the variables and the respective scripts for analysis.
