Scope of data: This dataset is about ligand mobility-mediated cell adhesion and spreading. Considering that cells can sense and respond to stimuli and changes in their microenvironment through integrin-based adhesions, a precise knowledge of the interaction between receptors and ligands (responsible for cell-ECM adhesion) is very important. This dataset contains a newly established motor clutch - Langevin dynamics model to study cell adhesion and spreading mediated by mobile ligands. After implementing the model by Monte Carlo simulations, some important analytical data is also presented in this dataset, including the (1) biphasic relationship between cell adhesion and ligand mobility, (2) aggregation influenced by ligand density, and (3) the different optimum position due to binding kinetics.
What data files are about: (i) A folder named "simulation": containing two scripts of MATLAB code (one is about Monte Carlo simulation and the other is the calculation of 2D membrane resistance). (ii) A folder named "analytical data": three tables about the summary of important results (see as Scope of data).
