Postgraduate Library Induction Part 3 Hands-on: Advanced Information Literacy Workshop

This is an interactive, task-based hands-on workshop designed to equip students with essential skills for building effective search statements and evaluating information in today’s digital world. Through practical information search tasks, participants will learn to:
● Establish effective search queries and statements
● Distinguish between reliable and unreliable sources
● Assess the credibility of information
In this workshop, students will be divided into groups and work on tasks to develop search statements using appropriate keywords, operators, and filters, as well as navigate and utilize a variety of information sources, including but not limited to search engines, databases, and Generative AI, i.e., HKU ChatGPT. Students are expected to work, analyze, and reflect on their answers by presenting via the Miro board (https://miro.com/).
